Will I Ever Learn?

This is an update about the issues I described in my Bullies entry. So, how often have I heard the saying that you should always get both sides of the story before jumping to conclusions and yet I still sometimes forget to actually use that bit of advice. I have to admit that I owe my mom an apology for speaking somewhat negatively of her in my other post about Thomas being bullied. I did talk to my mom about Thomas and his problems at school, and I found out by doing so that yes my mom knows about it, but what I didn't know is that she is doing much more to actually try to help the situation. She has actually gone to the school and talked with his teacher about the issue. She has also told Thomas that he needs to keep telling her when things happen so she can help him. For anybody who doesn't know Thomas, he's very sensitive, and I think he tries to protect people a lot, like his other friend that is getting bullied as well. Well, I think he is trying to "protect" my mom as well by not telling her as much about what's really going on. So, by talking to my mom, she is now more aware, since she already was aware and trying to get Thomas to talk to her, of how Thomas is feeling and knows better now to dig deeper into what Thomas is really needing to say. Anyway, there's more to the story, but it's not necessary to explain everything. I do feel much better now knowing that the situation really is getting attention and help by those who should be helping it, and hopefully ease up a bit. Since going back on track, I guess Thomas has said it hasn't been as bad, but they've also spent more recesses inside due to the weather, and that has been where more of the problems have happened. But, like I said, now my mom knows that it is still really bothering Thomas, so she is going to talk to him more about it and make sure he is really telling her everything. So, don't be like me and jump to conclusions too quickly before finding out the other part of the story!

Growing Too Fast!

EmmaLee is 5 1/2 months already! I can't believe how fast she is growing! Lately she has discovered her voice so she spends some part of each day strengthening it by yelling and screaming, but in a happy way! I don't know if it's the weather, but the last few days her hair has taken on a fuzzy, static electricity sort of look, and I thought it looked so cute that I thought I would share a picture of it. She still doesn't have a lot of hair, so you have to look closely.

I took this video of her today as well and just wanted to share how cute she is when she moves. I'm sure I'll think it's cuter than anybody who watches it, and I ask that you ignore the silly commentator talking in the background. People will say and do anything to get a baby to smile!

I Lied!

Okay, so in my last blog, the very last thing was to post a picture taken within the last week. I didn't think I had any, so I posted what I thought was the last picture taken of me, which was a beauty I might add! Well, I think because I've been so sleep deprived, I forgot to actually look on my camera and see if there were more that I hadn't downloaded yet, and sure enough, there was! I forgot about these ones because I didn't take them! After one of our lovely snow storms, I decided to take advantage of the new front yard, which is pretty steep, and take Isaac tubing! Eden was taking a nap, so it was a mother son date! So, here are a few pictures of that!

It's not a long hill, but it was pretty fun! Of course, after the first time down, I spent most of the ride down trying to decide when to dig my feet in to keep us from flying onto the street!

What do you make?

Okay, so I am at my wits end with food. I can't seem to make anything my family likes for lunch or dinner. Whether my efforts are great or small, they hardly ever eat it! I want to start eating healthier, but I also just want my family to eat, so what do you all make that your families like and eat? Especially your young kids? Do you have table rules, like you can't leave the table until you eat so much of something? How do you make your meals more healthy? If I had all the money in the world it would be somewhat easier, but I don't, so I can't afford a lot of the stuff that is obviously healthier, at least not all the time. And, going to the store often to have a constant supply of fresh stuff isn't always reasonable for me either. So, any tips or suggestions?
