So, ever since school started, life has been flying by! I have been going to school with Eden everyday since August 17 when school started, trying to help her overcome her separation anxiety disorder. I am very happy to say that we have come a LONG way since school started, but it's still been very time consuming! Eden's confidence has gone way up, and she is loving her teacher and her class! We are on the last leg of this journey, and I actually spend most of my time outside the classroom, and volunteering for Isaac's class as well.
Just this last week another development has come up, which is that I was hired by the school to be a part time tutor. The tutors help with what the school calls a guided reading program, and they spend an hour with groups of kids from each grade helping them with their reading skills. They work Monday-Thursday from 8:30-12:00. But, I actually am even more part time than that. The tutors had actually all been hired when I expressed an interest in working for the school to the principle, but she ended up having one come up and tell her she wouldn't be able to work Mondays, but could work all the other days. So, I got hired for just Mondays, and to be a general sub for any of the tutors. I am also on the substitute teacher list, so could be doing some substitute teaching as well for the school! I'm actually glad it is only one day a week right now. It has been quite an adjustment having me gone for so long this last month and a half. Thankfully, Rob is home to be Mr. Mom, and I'm grateful I've had the ability to help Eden overcome this problem, since it will help her so much the rest of her life. If Rob wasn't home, there would be no way I could have put this much time in with Eden at school, not with three younger siblings!
So, between being at the school with Eden, trying to catch up on home stuff when I get home, and trying to still do all the work of a full time student, you can see why I haven't been around much lately. Eden really is getting to the point where I'm going to be able to be home more and she'll be able to be on her own, so hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll be able to finish catching up with pictures!
